Putin, China’s Wang Yi to discuss Ukraine in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet China’s top diplomat Wang Yi in Moscow this week, the Kremlin announced. Wang will also hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Ukraine, as China weighs in amid U.S. efforts to end the three-year conflict.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Wang and Putin “good old friends” and confirmed their meeting during Wang’s visit from Monday to Wednesday. The visit follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s frustration over stalled peace talks.

China, maintaining close ties with Russia, has not condemned Moscow’s 2022 offensive. Western nations argue Beijing’s peace plan favors Russia, while urging China to push Moscow toward negotiations. China insists it remains neutral and is not supplying weapons to either side.
